In honor of the Franklin Pierce Bicentennial,
the Hillsborough Historical Society presents
Mary Ann Haagen and the Enfield Shaker Singers
Monday, June 28, 2004 at 7 p.m.
At the Franklin Pierce Homestead, Route 31, Hillsborough, NH.
The Program will depict Franklin’s 1848 defense of the Shakers
before the NH Legislature, giving a combination of readings from
Pierce’s defense of religious freedom with songs that articulate
Shaker feelings about the changes brought against them.
The Program is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
If the weather is nice, bring your lawn chairs or a blanket and
