The Town of Hillsborough will be starting to data collect again 1/4 of the town per year starting in 2008.

Residents can expect assessors from Cross Country Appraisal Group, LLC who will be wearing identification badges to come to their doors and ask to perform an exterior and interior inspection.

The inspection should take less than 10 minutes and assessors must be let in by a resident 18 years or older.  If the owner is not home, the assessor will leave a card advising of their presence on your property.

If you wish to call us regarding an abatement for 2009 please call 603-464-3877, extention 223.  All abatements for 2009 must be filed by March 1, 2010.


You can now get Assessment Cards online.  
Once in the system, you must enter the User Id:  Public and a Password:  Public

The Town of Hillsborough presently has property tax exemptions for seniors and handicapped person that are related to income.  Tax credits are also available for verterans, dependant upon service dates or assignment.  For information please contact the Town Office.  All credit & exemptions are for the persons primary residence only.  



The 2009 property tax rate per $1,000 of valuation is as follows:
Town                            $  7.60
Local School                    $ 9.75          
State Education Tax         $  2.22
County Tax                         $  .97

Total                                    $ 20.54

For Emerald Lake there is an additional $1.29 per thousand dollars of valuation.
