What types of tax exemptions does the Town offer?
Must file by April 15th:
Elderly Exemption: This is your primary residence. You need to be a New Hampshire resident for three (3) consecutive years preceding April 1st in the year the exemption is claimed. The Income Limits are: Single - $30,000 and Married - $45,000. The Asset Limits are: Single or Married - $71,500. The exemptions are: $34,500 for persons 65-74 years of age; $51,750 for persons 75-79 years of age and $63,500 for persons 80+ years of age. Proof of age, income and assets is required.
Disabled Exemption: This is your primary residence. You need to be a New Hampshire resident for five (5) consecutive years preceding April 1st in the year the exemption is claimed. The Income Limits are: Single - $25,000 and Married - $33,000. The Asset Limits are: Single or Married - $65,000. The exemption if $25,000. Proof of receipt of Social Security Disability, income and assets is required.
Blind Exemption: This is your primary residence. You must be registered with the New Hampshire Department of Education Vocational Rehabilitation Bureau of Blind Services. The exemption is $15,000.
Solar Energy Systems Exemption: As defined in RSA 72:61 and 72:62.
Wind-Powered Energy Systems Exemption: As defined in RSA 72:65 and 72:66.
Woodheating Energy Systems Exemption: As defined in RSA 72:69 and 72:70
